December 26, 2019 Annular Solar Eclipse at Jurong Lake Gardens, Singapore
Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) President / 2019 ALP Annular Solar Eclipse (ASE) Expedition Team Leader James Kevin Ty leads an 14 man expedition team to Jurong Lake Gardens, Singapore last December 23-29, 2019 to observe and image the Annular Solar Eclipse that will be visible in Singapore. Below are his images taken using Canon DSLR Systems. Eclipse sequence below were taken using a Canon EOS 5DsR DSLR on Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 L II telephoto lens with Canon EF 2x II Extender for an effective focal length of 800mm mounted on Kenko Sky Memo-R star tracker . A Baader Photo Density 3.8 solar filter was used with the lens system most of the time except on Chromosphere and Baily's Beads which were taken with same lens and camera system sans the solar filter. A Canon EOS M6 mirrorless camera was mounted on an Orion 50mm guidescope with Televue 2.5X Powermate giving an effective focal length of 550mm (35mm equivalent of 880mm) to capture full sequence of the eclipse in real time. Weather on the early morning of E Day , December 26th, was mostly clear with only some thin clouds passing over the Sun during annular times. The entire solar eclipse sequence were successfully documented as well as temperature and humidity readings were recorded. Beautiful Chromosphere and numerous Baily's Beads were captured as well, All images below were taken by James unless noted.
